Sapa- a great place for trekking tours

Sapa- a great place for trekking tours
Sapa is situated in the country’s northwest at an altitude of 1,600 meters. In the early 20th century the French took advantage of Sapa's cool climate, developing it into a summer retreat from the heat and humidity of Hanoi.

Today, Sapa town still retains its European feel, largely due to the French architecture and gardens and today is a popular destination due to its beautiful scenery and colorful ethnic people. Sapa town is reached via a winding 40km road from the town of Lao Cai.

The drive provides a taste of what is to come as the road winds its way up through lush rice-terraced valleys and breath-taking scenery passing several different minority villages along the way. The valleys surrounding Sapa are home to several of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority groups, each with their own distinctive dress, customs and dialects.

Ta phin grotto

Ta phin grotto
At the far end corner of Ta Phin village is Ta Phin Cave. As usual, with the commercialism of tourism,  Red Dao women wait  there to promote you and offer you to buy their merchandises.

The Dao children also surrounded us to rent us the torch light. The problem was there were a few of them persuaded you to rent from them, so Adeline did have a hard time figure which one to rent. The torch normally cost VND 2,000.

The Red Dao is easily identifiable by the large red headdresses worn by many of the women. Ta Phin grotto is just a small and unimpressive cave, and it’s completely dark inside. Bring a torch, else make sure the torch light is bright when renting one.

Ham Rong Mountain- the beauty like the heaven meet the earth

Ham Rong Mountain
I had heard About Sapa, read about it and seen it on TV and the internet, but none of it compares to actually having seen this famous landscape, Ham Rong Mountain in particular, with my own eyes. Ham Rong, with its own beauty of flowers, of stone, of air, contributes to the seductive appeal of Sapa. Why don’t you come and discover Ham Rong Mountain as well as Sapa for yourself? It’s worth it, I promise!

Ham Rong Mountain, which belongs to the majestic Hoang Lien Son Range in Sapa District, Lao Cai Province and is about 30 kilometers from Lao Cai Town, looks like a jaw of a dragon opening wide to the sky. It is an ideal destination for those who want to conquer a height and contemplate the wild and beautiful nature of a mountainous region with the clouds flowing gently above and the peaches blossoming everywhere.

Amazed at the winter beauty of Sapa

Amazed at the winter beauty of SapaVisitors often come to Sapa in summer; however, if you have chance to come to Sapa in winter, you will realize how attractive Sapa is in winter.

Located in the height of 1600m above the sea level, Sapa is such a Dalat (a cool temperate climate city in central highland) in the north of Vietnam. Since 1930s, Sapa was chosen by the French colonists to be the vacation destinations with the luxurious villas and stone caved roads in the middle of the peach gardens in spring. However, Sapa is just really in its time after the 38-km asphalted road connecting Lao Cai city to Sapa was renewed.

Eventhough Sapa is a foggy city all year round, the fog is even thicker in Sapa in winter to make the land more mysterious and vague. The dew spread the city like a thin grey veil. The dew hides under the pickle pine tree line over the two street lines.
